CSLC’s Liberian Lutheran

Church Ministry

Thank you for your swift response to the needs of our Liberian friends in need. We have already received enough offerings to pay for the clean water and start on the building for the orphanage! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

If you would still like to give, make your check to Christ the Servant and on the memo line write “Liberia.” You may also give online on the church website. Be sure to share the video from our church Youtube Channel.

Current local needs continue for food as well as the following: used computers; adult and children’s shoes; boys’ and girls’ bicycles; chairs and other furniture; school materials, backpacks, books, paper, etc. We are also in need of people who have trucks or vans and can deliver these items based on your availability.

Baby Baskinettes

We can use laundry baskets and pads, small towels, receiving blankets, lotion and shampoo, larger blankets or quilts, disposable diapers (newborn size) and baby bottles with nipples. Please drop your donations off at the church. We try to make 8 baskenettes each month to give to LSSN. We are out of everything, so anything you donate will be used. Gently used baby items are welcome. Christ the Servant has donated 88 baskenettes to LSSN this year.  Thank you for your support of this ministry.

Blood Drives

Three Times per Year

9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Community Hall

Blood, who needs it? Cancer patients, burn victims, people facing surgery, people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time, people like You and Me need blood. It is estimated that 70% of us will require a transfusion in our lifetime. United Blood Services must collect over 300 units of blood each day from volunteer donors to meet patient needs in southern Nevada hospitals. but, only 1 in 20 people regularly gives blood, and after 42 days, any unused blood in blood banks must be destroyed. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh at least 110 lbs. and are required to bring I.D. (a driver’s license, donor card or a social security card). Please prayerfully consider signing up in the lobby for an appointment. Our goal is 15 units of blood.

Navajo Mission Trip

Some years we go to the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission to build houses on the Navajo reservation in Arizona.

Family Promise

Twice a year (Christmas week and June) we house homeless families in our classrooms as they work toward independence.

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada

Summer is coming, which means that it is once again time to challenge each other with one of our most popular and nutritious food drives.  This is an opportunity for you and your congregation to engage in a friendly competition with other Lutherans across the valley, while working to fulfill our Lord’s call to feed the needy. With the amazing success of last year (raising over five tons of food), the drive will again take place during the months of July and August. We’re going back to our original request, but with a slight twist: this year’s items to be collected are Peanut Butter And Jelly. Since clients choose their food items on the basis of weight at LSSN’s pantry, small and medium sized jars are requested – NOT bulk sized jars – and while plastic jars aren’t necessary, they are appreciated.

Robert Taylor Elementary School
